Anybody know of a descent video camera that can handle lots of bumps, without shutting down?....aka have you actually used one that works?

I wanna mount one to the tab JCR put on my cage, but people I have talked with say all the newer fancy ones that use SD type memory or a hard drive just shut down after x number of bumps.

The type that make a new file every time you turn it off and on would be best. It would be nice to be tapeless, but it needs to work.....as this would be the only application I would use it for most likely. Tapeless would be good for editing also. Needs to be semi compact, and affordable.

thanks

I have a flip video camera, pretty cool little thing. Like it because it will fit in your pocket so its easy to bring along and has a screen on it so you can watch after recording.

I also bought a go pro video camera right before silver lake openning weekend. That sounds more like what you want. Its pretty cool, but go's threw battery pretty quick. Get a set of rechargable one forsure and always have another set with you.

Heres the info on it

Basically just search for a helmet cam camera. It can mount virtually any where and for the most part is water/crush proof. and just plugs into whatever video camera you have. They're usually called "bullet cameras" I believe. :thumb:

GOTRCKS posted some videos that he took with cameras mounted all over his jeep. You could ask him.

I am thinking the go pro is for me..

Just tell your wife/girlfriend you got it off ebay for 100 bucks :teehee:
now to convince ebay it's $100 instead of $2600!

We sell the GoPro cams at work, they are nice, practically indestructible and has internal storage!
Helmet cam called go pro 5 comes with a ton of different mounting options and it all in 1 small box. They are badass. I where mine snomobiling and we hit jumps like crazy. Never had it skip. Runs on triple A's and a memorey card and they are waterproof to 100 feet. And really cheap.( $180 ) compared to others out there. I am planning on mounting mine on cubes jeep for the rubicon trail trip this year. We own 2 of them
I am thinking this is it:

http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=2

wide angle....several mounts come with it..

with an sd card up to almost 2 hours.

I can carry extra batterys and cards with me.....and take it off quickly and use it for a camera or video while I hold it.

I don't need a screen or fancy options....

and under $200 sounds good

vids seem to be descent quality too
