That is not Hillbilly logic. Solid axle including suspension components will almost always be lighter then IRS.

People been swapping 8.8's into r7's for years. This is mainly to add more horse power then that crappy independent rear can handle. With the benefit of shedding weight in the process.
They saved a whole 11 pounds... I'm sure if they threw as much money into the irs setup as they did the rear end they put in it, it would have been lighter and better suited for the track car they claim they are building.

Stillen makes plenty of parts to strengthen and lighten the irs on a 240.
