Yeah, but you don't need 1700 Hp
Chrysler hasn't gone forced on the V10 because they don't have to. If they did, it would be cheaper than retooling the engine architecture, however.
here is the deal...the ACR get brakes and suspension thats it, the package has been out for a long time...the v-10 ram is an off shoot of the v-10 viper motor...unlike the ford gt which uses a truck motor as its base the Viper v-10 was its own design, then copied and made with iron to be put to use in the truck...first gens are making 1200+hp reliably all day long with the addition of turbos... the bigger displacment gen motors are going higher than that...the Viper is NOT a gas guzzler if you stay out of it...my milage went from 10-22 depending how I drove it...it was a great car, neat and fast, but more of a pain in the butt to own...not because it broke, the thing was built proof. Insurance was super cheap too, it was like $245 full covarage for six months. I could believe it at first but my agent told me that their are so few of these cars and none of them are own by shithead teenagers that it kept the rates low. Even though parts are through the roof on these. Head gaskets alone are going from $1200(dealer only only on gen I's) Every where you drove someone always had something smart to say. You had to be carefull with every parking lot you pulled into because the damn thing sat so low, I have more fun in my Jeep than I ever had in that damn Viper. The only reason I sold it was because my wife(yes I wiped) said I couldn't buy a Jeep that I had too many toys...I showed her I sold that bitch and bought the Jeep and have enjoyed the Jeep every bit as much if not more than the Viper
