Has anyone ever built soft doors for a vehicle that was never designed to have them?
Like a simple tubing frame to fit the outline of the door opening, and few gussets, 2 hinges and a latch... string some canvas across it to block the wind, clear plastic for a window?
I got a ramcharger and both doors/hinges/latches are shot, Id like to be able to remove them anyhow, but still have something to close once in a while...
My brother in law made removable doors for his cage XJ (was the white XJ/Cage Jeep at PigGig last year) He also made removable upper windows for it the have pins like the wrangler half doors. I do not have any pics, but pretty cool.
I live near Pittsburgh & am seeking someone who can build a set of soft doors for a 94 - 4dr XJ.
We prefer wheeling without the doors but found with my health challenges I cannot get them on & off with my 13 yr old son. Plus they are nearly impossible to deal with.
Please feel free to contact me if anyone has suggestions or is interested in building.
THX
Michael
