i'd like to learn how to do my own gears. its something ive never done before and dont want to jump into it without knowing a thing. does anyone have good "how to" link or book? i looked at barne's and noble today but couldnt find anything? any info helps, thanks in advance
knowledge is only half the required equipment for doing your own gear installs. you need a few special tools as well. shop press, bearing seperator, dial indicator, pinion depth gauge(good idea but not required). heres a good link http://www.drivetrain.com/ringpinioninstal.html
thanks for the link. yea i know ill be needing some new tools, im never really opposed to buying new toys though. i may even hold off and take a class at the community college
That was the writeup I was going to use to setup from d30 gears. I ended up having Jeeperz Creeperz do it for cheaper than it would have costed me to buy the special tools and possibly mess it up.
ill have to look for that. i looked at barne's and noble and couldnt find dick
