id keep it..with the roll doing all the damage i dont see it bringin in much. Why do you want a buddy when this works like it does?Id put a LS motor in it with a nice trans/case and call it good.
the roll did no big damage the hood is fixed an i have a grill to put in it just have not look to hard for a windsheild frame yet. but if i sell it will be fixed.
I've toggled back and forth with it. A buggy will definitely out perform my jeep but not by a tremendous amount. When the weather is perfect, a buggy is great. When the weather is not perfect, a jeep is more versatile. I like the ability to run a full top, full doors, heat and wipers turned on and 15 minutes worth of work allows me to run with no top or doors. Winter runs and spring/fall runs in the rain are much more comfortable in a full body rig.
How much are you planning to go out of state? There's not much in Michigan to justify a buggy. On the other hand, a buggy can handle a lot more abuse with little damage. My jeep body is trashed from running it hard.
I've tossed around the idea of selling my jeep and getting brand new:d: Then I look at the new price tag, realize my jeep can go more places than a new stock one, and I don't sweat dents and scratches. :d:
I was in the same boat. I decided to keep the ZJ till the flat fender is finished. It'll basically be a buggy with a body and the ability to run a top and doors.
If you are thinking of selling the Jeep to immediatly buy a built buggy that'd be a different story. If that were the case I completely agree with Jim.
For one, dont make your decision until after December 29th. For two, I would encourage you to go the other way, less capable rig. I have been having way too much fun in my TJ that is almost stock. Buggys are over rated
I have had both. Had a jeep. Went to buggy. Back to a Jeep. A buggy is great but if all your buddys dont have them they are kinda boring because you have nobody to wheel with. I like having the room and seats available also. Save the money and just keep wheeling the jeep. Buy a forclosure house and make some money or something instead. Buggy is a loss of cash!
I finally decided to post my mine for sale "for real" instead of just feeling the market. The driving force behind it is I just don't use it. Once I put 60's under it, it just sits in the garage. My wife and kids lost all interest because they weren't into the harder obstacles. We have decided to buy a JKU in the next couple years. I will probably get a Rubicon and put it on 35's max.
I know your situation is a little different as your not looking to downsize. I think if you are going back and forth I would just keep it. I finally came to terms it is time for it to go.
I've decided to keep the jeep, eventually put a 5.3 in it and wheeler it in most of the places the buggies go. Cost/time/stuff CVwindows pointed out were my deciding factors. I'm going to look for some 40ish" "street" tires so I can just drive 2 tracks to get out more often. I'm staying with hydro assist specifically for this reason as well. There were only 3 or 4 places Erin went that I didn't go down at the badlands and M.I. and I can live with that.

buggy..i love mine.jeep got boring.i feel alot better that im not crushing body panels every time i go out.wheels and tires i can live with.jim is old and he realized he cant climb in and out of a buggy.thats the real reason he dont have one.
maybe crawling..although your eyes are most likely getting bad at your age so i most likely would have ya there too..:finger: we go do some full throttle assaults on some nasty hills and you know who's got the sack.:sonicjay:
