Anyone tow with one? I'm looking at a 04 Limited with a 5.7 Hemi, auto, full time 4wd, tow package. It would mostly be my dd with 4-5 long tows a years. If I tow more it would be short 150 mile round trips.
The current model will tow 7200 lbs with the 3.55 and 8700 lbs with 3.73's. Just wondering it an 04 would be the same? Should 7200 be enogh for a XJ on a trailer?
Should tow just fine, It's not a small SUV, similar in size to a Expedition or Tahoe.
Depending on trailer, your XJ/trailer should be somewhere around 6000-6500lbs.
I have an 04 but it does not have the hemi. I've towed my 21ft searay cruiser on a triaxle trailer. I would rather use my duelly but I would say it was ok. My trailer was a little long for the wheel base for my comfort. The MPG sucks on my duango as a DD you may want to check that out.
no the dodge ram with a 4.7 tows 7900 and the 5.7 9500 and the the meag cab 10.000 i tow a 8000 camper with my 05 Durango and some times i tow a 2 car tralier that holeds to xjs to the mounts and badlands so that would be a good tow rig
think the longer wheelbase of the ram would be more friendly for towing a trailer.
