Entry level Designer - UG NX (may be filled)

Simulation Engineer

Sr. Design Engineer
----------------------------------------
Entry level Designer
(I think this description is the same they use for Sr level, so dont' let it scare you if you are interested and have any UG experience with solid modeling)

Job Description
 Responsible for the creation of CAD models as directed by the Design Engineer
 Responsible for the creation of accurate and good quality CAD models that are acceptable for manufacturing
 Minimum of CAD Level 1 ability: Level 1, Basic knowledge, able to model simple 3D parts and detail drawings. Preferred is CAD Level 2 ability: Level 2, Basic plus experience, able to model complex parts.
 Must understand the function of the design as explained by the Design Engineer. It is the incumbent’s responsibility to question the engineer until the function/design is understood. It is implied that by meeting the function the part is also packagable within the allotted space
 Meet timing requirements as communicated by the Engineer or Supervisor. Give adequate notice if there are CAD related timing concerns
 Responsible to understand and use appropriate GD&T principles and methods in the design process. Requesting training if necessary
 Responsible for creation of part drawings as requested by the Design Engineer with correct GD&T methodology
 Must keep oneself up to date of the latest CAD software functionality and methods
 Must understand the basic impacts on the part design due to injection molding, i.e. making the part manufacturable
Knowledge and Experience
 Degree and/or Certificate of completion for CAD software (specifically UG) or equivalent training and/or experience
 Knowledge of drawing principles and methods
 Understanding of product design principles and problem-solving techniques
 Good interpersonal skills to communicate with engineers, customers, suppliers and peers
 Good personal project management and decision making skills

Simulation Engineer

Responsibilities:
 Support the engineering team in developing functional products by performing CAE analysis on Air Intake manifolds and other components.
 Types of analysis will include Static non-linear, dynamic, acoustic, thermal, sealing and fatigue.
 Perform representative and accurate simulations in a timely manner.
 Make CAE analysis reports and presentations to communicate results and recommendations to the Engineering team.
 Contribute to the continuous improvement of simulation procedures and use of simulation tools.
 Contribute to the development of new CAE capabilities, methodologies and expertise.
 Participate in correlation work between CAE analyses and actual testing in collaboration with the lab team.
Requirements:
 Master degree in Mechanical Engineering.
 Good Knowledge on Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics.
 Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in CAE simulation using ABAQUS software for plastic applications preferably in the automotive industry for:
o Non-linear structural, dynamics (vibration), acoustic (NVH), Thermal, sealing, fatigue analyses.
 Experience in CFD (steady and unsteady flow) using StarCCM+ software.
 Proficiency in the following CAE software: ABAQUS, ANSA, Star CCM+
 Good knowledge of material properties for polymers and testing (materials and components).
 Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
 Must be able to execute multiple projects simultaneously.

Sr. Design Engineer

Responsibilities:
 Design system components to meet customer specifications within established timelines by providing technical direction to designers and technicians, conducting meetings and applying good engineering principles.
 Communicate to internal/external customers/suppliers, product definition and key characteristics.
 Interface with customer to define design requirements and assist customer in the design of the system.
 With the support of Validation Engineer:
o Identify, coordinate and communicate FMEA, validation simulation and tests to internal project team and external customer and suppliers.
o Design fixtures, establish procedures and instrumentation for specialized system and component testing to provide vital design data.
o Perform failure analysis associated with our products using team-oriented problem solving techniques.
o Generate and report product durability, reliability, and performance capabilities based on laboratory and field test results.
 Support Manufacturing Engineer, Equipment Engineer, and outside suppliers in developing the best methods of producing parts meeting customer's quality and cost requirements.
 Issue, maintain, and revise product specifications to keep record current with new information and requirements.
 Communicate with program managers and customers in establishing design and development programs that will meet customer timing and specifications.
