Say, I think I seen this Jeep on CL, price lowered to $1200, or so. Either way I think it is well worth $2000 alone with the sb setup. Good luck with your build.
that trans cross member is a little sketchy. i doubt those booger welds will get you very far. ditch (or fix) that, along w the others listed above. other than that looks like it will be a lot of fun when it is done. best of luck
Ya gonna get the JCR 1 ton steering for it and tom woods drive shafts. There is a cross member but it was just a mock up and isn't finished yet. Thanks.
Trying to figure out if I really need to put those big ass axles under it, it has 3/4 ton axles on it right now from what I was told.

I see duct tape AND a shirt hanger on that exhaust. This is exactly what i was looking for until i settled with a bare wrangler frame. Nice score, i'm sure its gonna be nice when its done.
Too bad you got orange paint all over those Mickey Thompson valve covers. They'd be a lot nicer than those piss poor Proform ones.:teehee: Looks like you have a good base to start with. I hope to see it out at the park soon.
I'm going to try and clean the MT covers up, I like them alot better. We might be out there the next weekend your open, Mboies is going to be helping me out a bit so it might come along pretty quick....

yea im fixing cooling issues with my zj right now so i can have it done for the 13th and 14th. actually i need to get it done before that. got to put a new rad in it.
Just waiting for the mail to get here, I need to go get the exhast header gaskets thats what I forgot yesterday.....Probley be ready to start in the AM. Thats if we don't get a foot of snow tonight
yea i found one i just got to get the money around to buy it. im gonna buy a new one so i get a lifetime warrenty. i put a lot of stress on it for a long period of time so thats what did it.
they dont build them selves over a week. takes time. stick with it you will enjoy it and be worth it in the end when you built your own rig that you wanted. it takes time and mostly money. but when you build your own jeep you will want to keep ti since it will have everything that you want or damn near. what ever the wallet can afford.

Hopefully I will want to keep it but I have a deal hard time with comitments....
Ok so tomarrow I am going to tackle some of the easier stuff seeing it's not going to do itself.....I got a couple questions.
First off I'm going to try to install the new intake, do I need to use any gasket sealer or anything on the new gaskets? I know I have to put some at the corners on the front and back but not sure about anywhere else.
Also I'm going to install the MSD 6AL in the cab behind the dash. There is a wire that is supose to be ran to a positive off the ignition key can I run a 12 volt lead from the battery itself and wire a switch up on the dash instead?
Thanks for the help.....
All the directions for the 6al say is hook the wire to a switched 12 volt sorce such as the ignition key or switch.
I'm guessing it will be all right. I want to use one of those lighted switches so I'll know if it's on or not.
Well I decided to put the 6al in the glove box with the door off. It fits perfect and won't get wet when I go across water or through mud. I thought about putting it on the back fire wall but figured the heat from the engine and all the mud would ruin it. Tomarrow I'll finish wireing it in and then get the new intake on.
No issues.... but my jeep sits at a good height and I try and stay out of the water. However I have been caught in some deep mud and it stays dry.
You may run into issues with interference with a CB radio though. I'm still trying to figure it out. I think the only way I'll get ride of it is if I put it under the hood and build a shield ? But it could also be my ford fuel pump which I know is very common to give off noise. Just giving you a heads up and hopefully someone else can chime in on this topic.
I've smoked a couple 6AL boxes by getting them wet. I had them under the hood of my Mustang and washed the engine.
