Any year with aluminum heads. 01-07... Cams were all the same, you could go for an lq9 but it's not worth the extra money for a bump in comp ratio. Aftermarket cam will depend on your setup.
FYI don't pay to much. I bought the LQ9 that @Dannn and I put in my truck complete from intake to pan for $675 if I remember correctly. I also just bought the LQ4 for my Yukon for $800 complete as well with 85k miles on it(he wanted 1400). Just to give you a price point of what they are going for. Both motors run great. All I did was add new gaskets(except head gaskets).
lq4 for me. did comp cam, headers, texas speed heads and it seems to make a little power :thumb:
got a very nice CR bump with the new heads. it moves out now that we have the right stall TC (2700)
