I am trying to monitor temps in my Acer Laptop, Aspire 3004WLCI. I think the CPU fan may have failed because it seems to be running warm and I have been getting some freezing. This computer has been on 90% of the 3 years I have owned it, and I have been pretty hard on it (lots of use paint worn off of keys, mouse buttons etc...)
I downloaded speedfan, it is saying my core is 64*C, Temp 01 is 30*C and HD0 is 35*C. I do not know if the temps are accurate and this program seems to kind of suck for explanation of how to use it.
How do I tell if it is running hot and if a fan failed aside from opening it up and turning it on? I hear 'A' fan running but I thought it had 2. I have it siting on a cheap ass laptop cooling pad right now, but the temps are reading the same as when it wasn't.
AMD Mobile Sempron chipset.
