I like to share what I am doing, like to take pictures, and I don't know about you guys, but I love lookin at em too.

SO here is my build, It is well underway, but here is the cut and pasted to date version.

So here goes, a 93 X cab, 4.0, 5 speed, Booger green as my Wife and kids call it, that is where the name comes from. A 6" suspension lift via rough country drop brackets, 6" skyjacker coils in the front and a chevy 63", 7" shackel and I replaced the factory lift block with a lift block, same height but had correction in it for pinion angle. And a 2" body lift....

At this point it was still serving DD and weekend wheeling duties, I was running 35's with 4.88 gears, trac lock rear, open front. It did pretty good, but I was ready to start making some changes....then this happend 6/18/10

So at that point it was time to come up with a new plan. I have already been wanting to do a SAS with my EB D44 so I figure there is no better time than now.

So the hunt began for a new "parts" truck that I could use the frame, front clip and a few other parts from. I decided I wanted to shorten my wheel base so I started looking for a regular cab truck. With just under a week of looking I found this beauty, a 93 4 poper flatbed

She's cute huh? Good shape in all the right spots. Runs like a top, drove it home and I only gave $450 for it....gonna part it out to get some of my money back.

So the plan is to use that frame, use my X cab and that front clip. As far as the bed goes, maybe a bob, maybe a truggy. All my motor and trans are going on the 2wd frame....should be a fun truck.

Anyways, on for the progress, got my 44 in the garage and started the tear down

Then I started to order SAS parts....got a set of Fox 16" air shocks coming, a few heims, picked up my 2" OD X.250 tube to extend the radius arms and some 1.250" OD X.250 tube from my track bar and drag link. Ordered some 4.88 gears today and some 7* radius arm bushings. I am going to go a pick up my disk brake set up for my 44 sometime soon too. I got lots of work to do!

Here are some pictures of the my smashed truck...

Alright, help me figure out what I wanna do. My box is messed up, needs some work. I have been tossing around the idea of a bed cage and box sides, but I can't think of a good way to mount the sides. On the other hand, I am not sure I wanna put that much work into a bed cage to just hold the box sides on. SO I am thinking maybe truggy, but i dislike the look of the factory frame rail and I would rather back half it, just don't have the money to 4 link it right now.

SO question is,
truggy
bed cage
F it, run it
just stitch it back together like my original plan, maybe do a dove tail on it for fun.

help me decide!!

Oh, and if anyone has a picture of something cool I should consider, post it up!

I wont get fussy with it.....it's already junk, I just want it to hold together. Right now it is being held together with a ratchet strap, I would like something more permanent. Besides, I need wrench time with the truck to stay sane and it seems like it would be fun to mess with since I can wheel with or without it. Work has been killing me, super busy, and lots of hours and I need something to take my mind off of it.

Welp, change of plans, I am gonna sell the doubler and go automatic. I found a good deal on a C4 tranny that I can bolt my 1354 case onto, but I don't think I will need the doubler with the 5.0.

Anyone wanna buy it? $350 OBO

The new line up is gonna be a built 5.0, c4 auto and a 1354.

Just incase you didn't know, and the reason for the change of plans

Not to drag my build thread down, but I had a major accident 4/26 on my way to work. It was crazy how quick it happened. I was rolling in the fast lane going slower than normal because of the rain, about 55-60mph. I was going by someone when suddenly my ass end slid out to the passengerside(hydroplaned), I corrected to miss the car next to me and it instantly came around on me the other way, clockwise, at that point I spun over into the slow lane infront of the other car, nose to nose for a second, then I spun the rest the was around so the passengerside was leading south into the guard rail. I blacked out at that point and woke up looking at the outside of my passenger side door and some dude at my door. I rolled my window down and chatted with him till the fire truck and ambulance showed up. They used a pry bar to pop my door open and I remember thinking it was going to mess up my paint. LOL. Thy took me to the ER and started looking me over, and after a couple hours decided I had broke 2 ribs in my back, one on either side of my spine, broke part of my spine off, dislocated my right shoulder, broke my right ring finder and got 3 stitches on my right hand. Along with the other cuts and bruises I also punctured my lung a little so they kept me in the hospital overnight. Now that I am out I am dealing with insurance and crap but I am alive, what else matters?

Here are a few pictures of my car I took....all I can say is wow.

note the the hood position, lined up to the fenders ok

motor mount, tranny was hit so hard it moved the motor. Glad to see the mount failed and not the engine

Holyshit thats crazy!! Glad to see you will recover! Dam shame for your car, that thing was beautiful.

As far as your drivetrain pick I can tell you its a great pick. I have a efi 5.0 in my bronco2 with a built c4 and the factory stock push button t-case. Even on 35's with 3.73 gears it will crawl over anything I have put in front of it. Both my new axles have 4.56 gears and I am questioning if I even really need to use that much gear now.
My motor is a 87 H.O. with ported heads, headers, roller rockers, stock cam,intakes,injectors,65mm TB,pulleys and I kept it speed density.Once its in 4low and hold 1st gear the power is crazy.

Get rid of the 5.slow and go LS :thumb: I'm sure you can get a poser mustang guy to give you more than it's worth and put a real motor in it..........................meh it's already badass, this will just add to the badassedness of it :sonicjay:

Loosen up your Bowtie,...........you're cutting the blood circulation off to your head.:poke::teehee:
