hello just seeing if anyone had a rough idea of what i have going on..just had gears done in my wrangler dana30 front, 44 rear, went from 373s to 456. didnt have to change carriers just the ring and pinion. every seems good until i put the jeep in 4 wheel drive and when it is the lock right locker wont disengage at all.. wether im in the gas or not. so its pushing all over the road binding up like i have a welded front end. the only way it unlocks is if i put it in 2wheel drive put it in reverse tap the gas and then its fine back in 2wheel unlocked. anyone have an idea? thanks for the help
This is what it sounds like to me. Maybe an issue with a spacer during the install. Did a shop install? If so, take it back and have them double check to be sure.
locker was in it before the gears where installed and it worked fine. he didnt have to change the carrier just the ring and pinion. so i dont think the locker was messed with.
if back lashing isnt done correctly could it cause the locker to think its under load and lock up? i had someone do it off here, i took it back today and still couldnt get it right.
they would have had to remove and re-install the locker though, maybe the different size of gear is causing the locker to bind somewhere? of like also said maybe a missed spring or shim put in wrong.
the locker was never taken apart or pulled out of the carrier.. from what i was watching he just had to change the ring gear and pinion gear along with the new bearings and stuff that come with the kit.
