2000 Silverado 2500 Front Drive Shaft Removal/Vibration

I have a 2000 2500 Silverado. with the autotrac transfer case.

I want to pull the front driveshaft to see if the vibration is being caused by a bad front U-joint.

Once the 4 bolts are off the front of the shaft.....do these metal clamps and boot need to come off before it comes out?, or do they come out with the shaft?

and can I run it with the shaft out?

I just want to make sure I have extra clamps before I get into it.

Sorry man. I was on a tractor when you were texting me. I wasn't following you. Tranny Tom answered you though. Did you get it out? Is the vibe gone?
Don't apologize. I just want to have what I need first to do it.

......and it's not out yet.......I got "Cinco"ed last night...:teehee:
