I love my Dyson, I dont have the DC25 animal but a guy at work has it and says it works wonders. I have had my Dyson for 3 years now and it still works just as good as the day I took it out of the box. Well worth the extra cash for a good quality product
Yep works great for pet hair...With 2 dogs and 1 cat pet hair is our biggest problem too...Small rugs can be a pain though as the there is no way reduce the suction power. So you have to be careful not to suck up the end of the rug.
Most of the animal reviews reference the small collection container. Is this really a problem? Some people say the hair compresses more inside, so its not a big deal, while some say its a huge PITA.
my mother inlaw just bought an Animal and she told me it is the best vacuum she's ever had. she vacuumed with her old one, then went back through with the Animal and she said the canister was filled by the time she was done. also had some cool attachments.
I've had a dc17 animal for 3 or 4 years now. Only complaint I have is my wife and daughter keep vacuuming up shoe laces. After 2-3 times of this and the belt breaks and stores don't carry them. Other then that works get.
Honestly, from what I've read the money isn't worth it. Some people I've talked with switched from the Dyson to the Bissell Liftoff Pet vacuum. That is what we have and it is freaking awesome! The power, suction and attachments are all A+ in my book. the whole thing pops out too so its easy to go up and down stairs and into cars with. My girlfriend and I HIGHLY recommend it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1Y02CZJTQ2M9Y3JQFKJV
The ball technology is over-engineered for its job. Until they make the vacuum wireless I don't see the ball technology being worth it. I don't vacuum the floor like I mow the lawn.
I've used that thing for three years, and it is an awesome vac. The big downside is I have to do two sets of stairs, and you can't turn off the brushes. If you leave that vac on carpet whiule you're doing the stairs, you will find you have a nice melted clump of carpet.
Did you see the one I was talking about in my first post? Stairs are not an issue with mine. It has two switches first of all so only the brushes can be turned off. But instead of having to lug the whole vacuum up the stairs you can just pick the canister out of the assembly like so...
bed bath is running a promotion of 10% off $100 gift cards. So I bought three for $270.
best buy is running a special on the dc25 animal for $439 (normally $569)
so, here is how it played out.
$569 original price
$439 - best buy price match
20% off coupon brings the total to $351.20
with tax - $372
subtract the $30 I saved with the gift cards
Total - $342 out the door :woot:
And yes, the people behind me in line were not happy with the 15 minute transaction :sonicjay:

Should of bought the gift cards at Kroger. They are offering the same promotion. But you get double point rewards right now. So you would have also gotten 600 Kroger points which I believe is about $0.50/Gal off of gas at 4x a month.
We bout the dc 24 last night a big lots for 279. The ball is awesome navigates around crap so easily. I understand collecting dog hair but this thing pulled so much sand/dirt from deep down in the carpet. It is awesome.
we have had our dyson for 3-4 yrs and we love it. we use to go through a vacuum a yr because they would run for crap after that (even with proper maintenance) the dyson still has the power it did when new and cord length and the empty deal you brought up has never been an issue.
I just bought a Bissel pet hair eraser. Boy does it have some suction. Nothing would touch my cat's hair on my couches, but this thing pics it up no problem.

We've been rolling with the dc07 forever. Take it apart twice a year for a good cleaning and it's good as new. We use it every other day. I'm surprised it has lasted this long.
2 Medium sized (75 and 85#) Shedding dogs. Works great for me.
Some of the attachments are pieces of crap though, the rotating brush stops rotating when it meets any resistance.
We have had a royal commercial vacuum for about 7 years and we take it in once a year for maintenance and it works good. We have a 50 lb semi-shedding dog.
:sonicjay:Man am I sure I am on the right site????:sonicjay:
I just let the woman go get what makes her happy for the housework, she enjoy's it,(really). The best part is she don't complain about what I am doing outside!!!:woot:
DC14 and I think its an overpriced pile of shit. Whoever designed the hose/extender deal should be shot, and it is worthless with attachments - all the air bypasses whatever you're trying to pick up through the holes it apparently needs for its "never looses suction" claim. Thought it would be better than my shop vac for detail work on the car (size/flexibility of hose mostly) - wrong! Couldn't pick up anything more than a dustbuster could. I wish my parents had not thrown their 1970's Hoover away. Pink and ugly but would pull the carpeting off the floor if it wasn't tacked down right. All steel construction.
