Nice job in the video. Sounds good and seemed to hook up well

I'm surprised your running radius arms. God I don't miss those days. Radius arms were so hard on my axle.
You need to link the rear and lose the end foot of frame and bed.

It's a hybrid radius arm setup like the Jeep long arm kits use...not like a ford setup. It works better than it really should....it cycles through 16" of shock with out binding, it flexes good, it doesn't unload on climbs and best of all it fits under the truck. I could separate the upper into a 3 link but i don't really see a reason. I would gladly 4 link it but i would have to lift the truck a significant amount. Only reason it fits now is because the trac bar pushes the axle over during up travel.

as for the rear....if i did it i would want coil overs to match the front....only way to do that would be to hack the frame at the cab because you are not getting them around the frame as is. I would rather just keep the leafs for now since they work really well and try to save pennies to get into a buggy.

I mean, it's not like it doesn't flex

Loosing the over hang would nice though

The over hang is what stood out in my mind on the video.

I really should fix this thing. Kinda said having it sit in the garage broke. We did discuss how to fix it this weekend. As much as i want to 4 link it, it's just no worth having to lift it. Looks like i will be staying with the radius arms, just a little stronger this time.

Finally fixed this thing, built two new links out of 2" .250 wall. I am really happy with the way the truck came through this....Link with the upper on it broke in half do to a very hard impact and the axle spun. In total it broke: link, drive shaft yoke, both shock eyelets and i ruined my winch rope using it secure the axle so i could drive it the 5+ miles back to camp. Couple more odds and ends it will be trail ready again.

Had a debacle trying to get a new winch rope. I broke my old rope getting the trail off the mountain so i called up Custom Splice and ordered 80' of 3/8's. Over a week goes by, no tracking number, no rope, nothing so i call them up....turns out they have no 3/8's in stock, it's all stuck in customs and they don't know when they will get it. I was pissed, why the hell wasn't i told this, but before i could say anything they informed me that they would be sending me 100' of 5/16 for free to use, then when they get their 3/8 they will send me that and i keep the 5/16 to use as an extension.

Can't ask for more imo, definitely a custom splice cystomer from here forward.

Took it to Bundy hill yesterday and everything worked out just fine, no extra issue to be found.

I need help though.

This thing rides like shit. It will literally beat you to death if you try to hit any type bump at any speed. It's almost unbearable

The front is ok...ish. it needs air bumps and some spring rate work as i am sure what i have isn't even close to "right". I also want to ditch the tender coil so i just have a true dual rate setup but i am an idiot when it comes to trying to figure out what will be better than i have. I currently am running 16" coilovers, tender coil/175 14"/250 16" springs. Have about 6" of up travel and it will bottom out with relative ease. I wouldn't mind lifting the truck an inch or two to get to 7-8" up along with some better spring rates.

The rear is god aweful. As in it bottoms out on every bump and does so with such violence that if you are not careful you will hurt your back and not be able to walk lol. It has 63" chevy springs (that are well worn), cheapo billsteins that are angled like this /\ and rock hard rubber bumps with about 3" up travel. At full bump the springs are just starting to invert so i can't really raise the bumps up. I know i need better shocks and they need to be more vertical and better bumps but is it worth putting air bumps on leaf springs? (I have no interest in linking it right now.) The back can come up more than the front as it doesn't sit level as is so i could see getting 6-7" up travel out of the back too. Do i do an add a leaf? Do i try mixmatching springs? What do i do for shocks?

I don't expect thing to race KOH but i want it to be comfortable to wheel, go to silver lake, and do stuff like RBOR. As it sits right now it is one of the most stable, well working trail rigs i have ever been around....i am not trying to brag, it just fucking works in low speed crawling and general wheeling and i don't want to lose that. It just needs to not completely fall apart at anything over trail pace.

Also bear in mind my budget is tight for two reasons 1. I got a wedding to pay for and 2. I am done with large expensive projects on this thing....goal is to limp it by a year or 2 more and find a way into a buggy.

I am all ears....where do i start?
