I have been 4 weekends and am still finding new stuff every time we go. The place is 4500 acres of trails, rock crawls, super long creek beds, huge hill climbs, washouts and mud holes. . . . Oh and 100 of stupid drunk hillbillies to watch for entertainment. Great time!
i grew up and lived the first 30 yrs of my life 15 minutes from there....there's some awful tough terrain (and really stupid hill-jacks) down there....i love that area
Yep! I love it. It's definitely more stable than my yj was. The only thing I miss is the power my yj had. I guess I will be doing a 5.3 or 6.2 swap after its payed off.
Thats just what I have heard and has had me cautious on going. Kinda the same thing for harlan on one side of the mountian. I got to witness that first hand and almost became a victim.
At this point with "Oaktree" gone that is the best option. I absolutely love wheeling there but not having a safe place to leave tow rigs sucks. I usually go every spring with a group of friends but likely won't this year for this very reason.
Its really a shame.....i have been all over (tellico, harlan, windrock, superlift, rausch, ect) and there is terrain there that will rival any of those places and its only half as far away....but the lack of structure of the place makes it tough to justify going.
I would really like to check this place out this yr, probably late summer early fall. All the reading i've done its suggested find somebody who knows the area.
Anybody interested in leading some buggies around to the harder stuff?
Im down for a trip as soon as my truggy done. Been watching youtube vids last two nites....looks like a ton of fun shit to get into!
