So last week i sold my 353 sbc and the SM465 tranny. On tap now is the BBC and TH350 tranny. I'm in the process of building the engine right now and also rebuilding the tranny.
Engine: 468
74" 2bolt vette block
Comp Cam Extreme 4x4 camshaft
Single plane Intake
750 Holley double pumper w/ choke horn milled off
Speed Pro forged dome pistons .060 over
Cast crank
Cast rods
10.1 compression
Tranny:
TH350
Shift kit
Art Carr shifter
T-Case
NP205 w/ fixed rear yoke
Axles:
Dana 60 front "spooled"
14 Bolt rear "welded"
4.10 gears
You will end up spending that $ in upgraded parts to get the th350 to live. They can be built to handle some serious power, but it takes some cash to do it. The th350 is a good light weight trans though.
Picked up a set of heads and intake today. Heads are rectangle port 2.25/1.88 valves. Ported w/ new valve job. New valves, springs, retainers, and keepers. Intake is a Professional Products single plane intake.
that turbo 350 will live if its built right, i had mine rebuilt 6years ago its behind a pretty stout 383 stroker turning 44in super swampers and hasnt failed me yet
I was thinking the same thing, my friends dad owns joe's tranny in Boyne City. He's been doing tranny's for ever so i think he'll know how to build one!!
Don't count on the trans holding up if Joe's is building it. I now of a guy he did a turbo 350 for and the pulled it 11 times in a week and still didn't get it right. Not Impressed. Also did you get that distributor yet?
Who was it?? I've always had good luck w/ Joe and all of my friends have to. I just pm'd Eric to see if he was gonna be in the shop after i get out of work!!
Well got the bearing and gasket kits in today. Found out i gotta drill 4 holes in my block for water passages. Miner setback. Will be getting pics tonight!!
On the way to get the camshaft after work. Now can start assembling the engine!!
