T/C Lockup Malfunction

On my 94 Explorer, the torque conv. is coming out of lockup. Any ideas why? It's not consistent, sometimes it will do it after driving for 10 minutes, sometimes after the first minute, and sometimes not at all. I'll just be cruising down the road. It will also come out of lockup if you lift off the throttle, even a little bit. Out of adjustment?

Now when I replace the TPS, I have to calibrate it, right? I hope it comes with the instructions on how.
