Make sure the grounds are tight I had a loose connection on my block once everything engaged but the starter.

check the connections to the starter and its ground, if that looks good take your starter off and take it to autozone or some other place that tests them for free, if you have power and jumping the solenoid doesnt do anything its probly the starter

How do you know the starter is fine? If you jumped the solenoid the only thing left is the starter and the wire leading to it ???

The starter could be only a week old, but that doesnt necessarily mean its good

doesn't anyone know that the starter is grounded to the engine block, cuz there kinda bolted together? you guys must mean the cable going from the battery to the engine block...:tonka: as everyone stated make sure the connections to the starter are good, if that don't work pull the starter and you can test it yourself with some jumper cables and see if it's good or just take it to autozone and let them do it.

if it is an auto tranny could be the neutral safety. that would explain all power but no starter engagement

move the shifter from park and then back into park or try starting it in nuetral. only works if it is an auto trans though.
