Default Ugh

For starters I have a 1991 5.8L I have had a drain in it I checked the codes nothing came up but an exhaust smog thing. So I then replaced the alt and the battery they both needed to be replaced. I also replaced the fuel pump relay and it still drains. It will drain fully within about 6-8 hours so what could be making my truck drain so fast????????? Also forgot to mention that when the trucks on the tail lights stay on without me having the lights on but im guessing thats just a bad ground.

Take of the neg cable from the battery and put a test light between the cable and battery terminal. It should light up if there is a drain ( with the key of). Now start pulling out the fuses one at a time and see when the light goes out. That should at least get you in the direction of what circuit is fck'd up. When pulling the fuses one at a time be sure to put the fuse back in before going to the next circuit if the light did not go out.

yep, thats the way to diagnose it.....this could be a five minute fix, but it could also be a 5 day fix - tracing wires can get very very tedious
