Default 2500# ATV winch... will it pull a car onto a trailer?

Gotta go get my Jeep, wondering if the winch on my quad would work to pull it up onto the trailer.

Any personal experience with this?

Jeep is lightweight, 2100 lbs on stock little tires.

I don't think I can get the tow rig anywhere near the barn due to snow, so Im thinknig the quad might pull it to the trailer with the hitch/tow bar, then use the winch to pull it onto the trailer.

You could probably pull it with the quad and a strap. The winch may burn out if you get any resistance to movement though.

I mounted a 3000 lb on my car hauler and Its slow but works. I double it back through a pulley and have not had any problems.

Maybe, based on rolling resistance weight and degree of slope onto trailer.

I had an El Cheapo 3000 pound winch on my car hauler for more than a year.
It worked fine on a single line pull.
Using a double line pull, I dragged an 85 GMC 2500 4X4 onto the trailer.
It had been sitting on four flat 12.00 tires for 7 years, and the bed was full of construction scraps, including the Western plow. I had to stop a few times, and cool the motor, but it did the job.
I was amazed.
RARGREEN is still using this winch.

Its a Warn 2500, and the Jeep is barely bigger than a quad...

I pulled my willys up on a deckover with beavertail using my 2500 warn 4 wheeler winch. I had to help push a couple times but it went. I also had to secure the atv to a tree and I used a block attached to the front of the trailer to redirect the line

trailer and jeep

if I had to do it again I would put the atv next to the truck, block on the jeep and anchor to the trailer or truck, so that it was offset to the opposite side the atv was on.

x2 on a snatch block...i have pulled a car with a 350 2 wd quad so i would say that you can pull it with the quad and then snatch block with the winch and pull it on the trailer

I guess, since the thread wasn't about: 1) productivity figures for a plant in china, 2) Paying someone to build your Jeep for you, or 3) failing to make a line that 32s could make, you didn't have any personal knowledge, so went with the old default line, huh?

That'd require me to read PMs from clam members.

But nice to see you caring about the integrity of your forums. Whats next, gonna go wheeling somewhere other than the mounds? You make us so proud..
