Camp Jeep last year, Had the rear end lifted, was jacking it down and didn't push the handle down far enough. When I pushed the handle down the next time the handle flipped up HARD and smacked me in the jaw.
Man that hurt.... No more hi-lift, use a bottle jack now!

Hi-Lifts are Fawkin scary, useful, but scary. They do not do anything well. But they do everything almost.

Good job not hitting your eye, and that scar will be pretty.

Its not in your beard area, didn't break your nose. If you gotta have a scar on your face..you didn't do to bad.

stitches are for weaklings.

as stated above, they dont really do anything well, but they are very useful. however, they do not replace other types of jacks. if your just changing a tire or something, do anything you can to use a bottle jack, or floor jack. hi lifts are a last resort, emergency, awkward position jack. and require caution.

i dont see a 24" hi lift being very useful, however if you are into ricers it may come in handy.

Wow, nice shots of the Dr. in action!

Hilifts have their place, you just have to respect them. I remember when every car came standard with that type of jack.

I've had a HiLift save my butt too many times to be without one. I used them as a winch a few times and have a pic somewhere of when I used one as an engine hoist. Sometimes that 42' of lift is the only thing that will work. And it's a l;ot safer than stacking rocks!!!
I feel your pain though, I've had that handle snap me in the head a few times. Damn that hurts.

I bought a Hi-Lift 4-5 years ago. It's never left my garage.
But I'm glad others have had one on some wheeling trips.

That's when all the bumpers on cars were chrome, and had a small slot on each end.

Ouch. I'd tell everyone at work that you were in a massive bar room brawl, and took a beer bottle to the face. At least that sounds all hardcore and whatnot.

Glad you're OK, relatively speaking.
