Default Hay guitar players

Will my acoustic be OK sitting in my car for an hour out in this cold weather?

I want to go to Bells on my way out of town.

Thanks.

yeah, just don't take it right out of the case when yu bring it in... gradual warm up. if it were hot and humid out, then you'd have something to worry about.

No, don't leave it in the car. Even a gradual warm up can be bad for the neck.

if its in a hard case and your only in there an hour, i dont think it will get cold real fast... will insulate it enough for that amount of time i'd imagine.

A hard case would help. An hour in this cold shouldn't do much harm at all. Just let it sit in its case when you put it in a normal temp setting.

being out in the cold for a little while wont hurt it, its the abrupt changes, just let it warm back up in the case and dont play or tune it until its completly warmed up and it will be fine, i do it all the time

should be fine as long as you don't place it on the register vent when you get home I abuse my takamine and it just doesn't seem to care what you do to it. although years ago a musician told me when I get an acoustic buy one where the grain of the wood is tighter and will be more resistant to temp changes. I guess. my cheap harmony buck owens replica is pretty durable as well.

Fill the body up with warm piss before you leave it. The thermal mass will help keep it warm, and the urine will help develop a wonderful patina.

That's what I was thinking, although I wouldn't leave mine in the cold...I'd bring it in with me.

It is a hard case... I took off at about 4 yesterday and didn't see the rest of the posts after that. I pussed out and just backtracked home to get it after I was at the bar for a while. Thanks for the help.
