TWO TRACKERS 4WD CLUB is having a run from Big Rapids in February. Runs are intended for members, however "We welcome visitors to join us at two meetings and/or one trail ride event for free. This will allow you to look over the club, find out if the club is the type of organization that you would like to join and the members the people you want to call friends."

Anyone interested is invited to visit the Two Trackers website http://www.twotrackers.com or can send an e-mail to trail_fanatic@hotmail.com

Back when I went to Ferris (10-15 years ago) we would go into the National Forest near Hungerford Lake in Newaygo County and the Haymarsh east of town. Not really sure if either of those places are "approved" off roading spots.

Haven't been anywhere but the powerlines since then, but did just buy another Jeep a couple months ago and would be interested in trail ride if the timing is right.

Will email for details.

been out to the National forest. They have some approved trails but mostly horse and hiking trails. Never been to the Haymarsh. any good? if so I'll look into it and if its safe to wheel. The only other real area is actually somebody's property that they converted to a offroad course. nothin big or fancy but alot of fun compared to the lines. they just held the Gregory Offroad Challenge not to long ago. I'm gonna try to get back there again soon.

I know of trails up around the Luther area west Ashton area.(Ashton is about 5 miles north of Reed City if anybody doesn't know) All north of Big Rapids, of course they aren't legal 4wd because they are public lands. But most of the trails are passable with two-wheel drive (except in winter). A lot of scenic terrain I think. Good easy trailing if thats what your looking for.

[QUOTE=gladiator18;916055] Never been to the Haymarsh. any good? QUOTE]

You know, I was only out there a couple times and was riding. Remember getting stuck a couple times in a pretty much stock IH Scout, was some hill the Jeep guys were bouncing up. Seemed like it was pitch black and pouring down rain too, not sure. Don't really remember much from those days...

The lines are over-rated....you want to go wheeling lets go over by Fremont if you want mud...or hell after the snowmobile trails close for the season we could venture up to Cadillac...theres hills up there.
