Default 01 Dodge Cummins Question

Hey all
Got a question
I have a 01 Cummins Dodge extended cab short box. It has the lower gears in it (I think 4.10) with an auto tranny. Been messing with fuel economy on it. On one trip to Detroit I got around 17 mpg.
When I hook up to my snowmobile Trailer (22ft enclosed V-nose) I drop down to like 11-12 is that normal. I would have though It would have been better but I am unsure. Just wanted to ask.
Thanks

There are alot of variables with Diesels and fuel mileage. Like, how fast you were towing, did you have it out of overdrive, Was it windy, ect.

Personally I think your mileage represents some true real world numbers and are not really that far off.

Try slowing down to about 65 or so, that should help a bit.
