SCSI devices also most of the time require the device driver loaded in this manner as well as raid arrays.

Couple questions now and statements.

1. a hard drive for the operating system alone is a wise choice, but a 5gb drive is a poor choice in this manner because the OS will want not only virtual memory on the same physical drive, but there are some programs that will only function if installed on the system. IE: you can't simply take the program folder as installed to another machine and get it to run.

2. SATA is a much faster drive interface than IDE and as such will make your machine run much faster if you have the OS on the SATA drive instead of the IDE. It will run faster still if you remove the IDE drive altogether.

3. why do you feel the need to DOD-like scrub your hard drive? Hard drive failures are typically the result of overused drives. Constant defragging and drive scrubbing accellerate this failure time period. There is no virus/malware I have seen thus far that will survive a partition delete/recreate and normal format.
See, I told you. I probably wouldn't have said anything like that! He didn't even MENTION using a hammer!

hmm. i did the F6 thing, and it tells me to insert the disk into drive A, which im assuming would be a floppy if the computer had one. Any way i can make it pull the driver off the CD? I tried screwing around with the boot sequence and such in the bios but no luck.
