Default Anyone hear....

That the 99-03 F-series trucks w/7.3L have a recall out on the CPS? I knew they were an issue and prone to failure, but I figured ford would just say that it was a normal wear and tear item, not recall it.

My dad wanted me to check into it, so I thought I would check here first.

The info is this. It is for pretty much all 7.3L Powerstrokes. But it does depend on what factory your truck was built at. Letters are supposed to arrive to all that are affected by this recall. But you can go to the dealership. They will run your vin number to see if your truck is affected. Then they will inspect the cps, if it is one of the bad ones. They will replace it for free.

When mine went out, Ford picked up the labor, and all but $60 of the cost of the part. That was three years ago.

I went on Fords website, you can enter your VIN there and it will tell you if your truck has it or not. I did that, called the stealership and got it done 2 days later. One guy tried to tell me I had to wait for the letter, but the manager told me not to bother waiting.
