Default Mitchell Report - Roger Clemens? Are you surprised?

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ritethru.1238/

Is anyone surprised that a 45 year old who has been throwing consistent heat is one of the first names on the list?

I mean, he doesnt ahve the prototypical steroid body, but I have been suspecting him for at least the last 3 seasons.

Clemens with steroids is questionable. usually steroids would cause the tendons and other ligaments to become weak, causing injury such as severly torn ACLs etc... which could be career ending and usually shortens one's career, but it would depend on the type of steroid used. dont really know if he has had any injuries involved with that but he would not be the first person i suspect.

steroids do not cause the tendons and ligaments to get weak. The problem is caused by strengthening your muscles faster then teh tendons and ligaments can keep up with. Roids do allow you to do that, where as without roids your muscles get stronger and your ligaments and tendons adapt and get stronger at the same speed.

As for Clemens, he didn't roid to get stronger, he roided to repair his body. You only will bulk up and get stronger if you train to. Which a baseball player (specifically a pitcher) wouldn't do. Pitchers put TREMENDOUS stress on their shoulders, roids will help repair those muscles after each game faster, allowing an old guy to continue training at a high level and playing at a high level, also allowing him to start more frequently then he could without the roids.

Keep in mind, roids do not make you stronger, they help your muscles recover faster allowing you to train harder and more often. Another reason why you see ligament and tendon damage, those parts need time to recover and the roids do not aid in their recovery.

I am very skeptical to see if Cal Ripken with his streak was using some sort of mild stack to keep his muscles fresh and injury free for all of those games. He is under suspscion in my book also.

The summary is only 409 pages. I think he said there was 12000 pages of shit including interviews, papertrails, reciepts, etc.

Some of it is just open ended I think.

Baseball couldn't even discipline their league . . . . and you expect them to get through a 12,000 page report :tonka:

Doesn't surprise me much at all. In fact, I don't think that the list he gave is complete. There has to be way more people that took some form of enhancement. JMO
