I was reading my manual Hyrdo over elec is the least of this things perks !
The display makes it totally mistake proof ! Shows you EVERYTHING (voltage output to brakes, batt voltage, short, over load, no power, trailer unhooked etc..) Its a VERY nice unit !

Just sitting here wondering why you would need all those options or when you would need to know the things it shows you. Trailer unhooked? WTF? Just look in the mirror and see if the lights are on.

Its a good feature. I can't see any of my trailer lights thru the mirror. More/less It tells you if the connection thru the plug is good. Sometimes mines is pushed in but not making a good connection.

Its called a daily vehicle inspection, turn on running lights, turn on 4 ways walk around truck and trailer look at lights and tires brakes hitch. D.O.T. Requires me to do this and wouldn't be a awful thing for you guys to do when you are towing.

Though that controller looks bad ass and I want one.

My Prodigy tells me if there is a poor connection, no connection, if there is a short, etc...

It's nice to know what is going on when you pick up other peoples trailers and nothing works

What, you got a 3 foot wide trailer? You should be able to see the yellow side markers.

I have got a Tekonsha Primus in my truck and I love it. I have not heard alot about the Prodigy, it is still pretty new to the market. I work for an injection molding shop and we mold all of the plastic components for Tekonsha/Cequent brake controllers, the exterior housings, the lenses, and all of the buttons, knobs etc... If you can try and find some of the clear controllers, the exterior case is clear so you can see all of the colored components inside. They made a limited number of clear Primus and Prodigy controllers but they are pretty hard to come by.

We have been making parts for a year or two which is pretty new compared the the the old school Voyager controller that we a have been making parts for at least 10 plus years and still do. The p3 uses most of the same components as the Prodigy, just has updated programming. I didn't mean brand new I meant newer.
