Default start of the X-mas 2007 buildup for my daughter **FINISHED NEW PICS**

I thought I'd make my 8 month old daughter her first rig of many more to come over the years (and I thought being into 4x4ing myself is expense, I'm so screwed). I mean seriously, the Wagon was $30 on sale, I'll have at least 6x that into this before I'm done, and probably more like 10x. Before I know it this thing will be gas powered going 45mph.

started with a 2007 stock Radio Flyer Red Steel Wagon.

a Set of of Carlisle Turf Saver 15x6.00x6NHS Tires (TSC only had 2 for now), the guy at TSC thought they were too big, I just told him he has no clue about my (I mean my daughter's) addiction...I'm going to go to a quad junk yard before I mount these to see what they have and how much. The Carlisle are $30/each for wheel & tire so I'm guessing I can find some Aluminum wheels with tires for about that at the junk yard....if not, the steel wheels are getting beadlocks to match my Jeep.

Here's a mock up, for now I'm just putting lift blocks in, but I may go to some coilovers and triagulated 4-link for the rear. Still looking at options for the front. I also need to make some hub adapters to actually fit the wheels, but again waiting until I go to the junk yard before any serious mods take place.

Also going to be adding wooden rails, seat & harness, 6pack cooler (for me), and maybe a soft top. Oh ya, and it's going to be painted pink and have some digital flames printed in pink & purple colors.

Future mods may include an electric's (instead of hydraulic's) and depending on heavy it is I may need to mod a Quad brake onto it and brake lever on the handle.

don't you pay any attention :miff:, it's getting painted pink w/flames........but I may add a custom Koz sticker in pink too.....after all my bro is going to let me borrow his 1/2" hand tubing bender and a 110v welder if he still has it (otherwise I'll have to build it all at the shop)

I was at the hardware store today and found more goods...these pint sized d-rings, picked up 4 of them for it, just gotta decide where to mount them. I think I'm putting a round tube frame under the wagon now.

I built one of these wagons for my son, make sure you use good bearings for the wheels, or it will be bitch to pull with the big tires...................Trust me I know

pretty cool, I purchased a nice big one with tires around that size from the amish. I also got it with the trailer to pull behind it. We put my 2 daughters and my 2 neices and plenty of room to carry other stuff :tonka: They all are 4 and younger. It is easy to pull, just not too easy to stop on hills... I will fix that with a hand brake. Looks good

Remember, no front lift blocks! also be sure to run your four link numbers through the 4 link calculator or it will explode on first use. If you need some beadlock rings or wheel adapter plates cut let me know, I just got my machine up again after a few too many months.

I saw that one, it's a little out of my budget, but very nice. He used things like go-cart hubs and wheels, nice but pricey. I'm all for blowing money on this but I will draw the line somewhere, I think?

I made a little more progress this weekend. I got the tube frame 75% complete, still need to add body mounts, d-ring mounts, drill some holes and final weld it. I also made the wheel adapaters. Then I've got to add some bracing for the rear axle so it doesn't rip right out from under the wagon and get the wooden railing done. Then I'll see if I have time before x-mas to do bead locks and a seat.
