Default How do you take spindles off a Dana 30

Just what it says in the title.

I have no freaking clue on how to do it and I dont want to F up the damn thing.

I have put a few front axles together but never tore one apart.

take off the bolts holding them on. i then used a dead blow and lightly TAPPED around it to loosen it.

if you have a slide hammer car quest sells a socket that threads onto the hube spindle and the slide hammer attatches to that..

Piece of wood will do fine, also. You just don't want to use something harder than the spindle. Strike it in a rotational manner once the nuts are off. Hit it at 12:00, then 3:00, then 6:00, 9:00, etc until it comes off. It fits into the knuckle just like a unit bearing does.

dang, 9 hours per side? what happens if you dont wait 3 hrs between hits?
