Default XJ Swing Out???

I am starting to make a swing out for my xj, I have a few questions 1st howlong should I make the bumber mounts soeveryting clears ok? The other thing I am undecided on is should I take the hitch off and weld in the reciver into the bumper. I plan to tie the bumper into the hitch or the hitch mounting if its removed. The last thing I am thinking of using a 1" round stock with a machined peice to fit over the round stock, with a grease fitting. Will it work or should I go buy the spindle from a trailer? Any help would be great thanks, Trav

Your hinge idea will work just fine, I used tubing for the same effect but will be changing it since it started to rattle and grease was squirting out all the time.

I have another cheap idea but I'll wait till im done to post that
