Default Yankee Springs Map

not really sure which forum this would go so whatever

Trail fanatic found this map in an antique store, thought it was kinda cool so i though i would reflect the changes 50+ years of trail closing has done to this small area

Yellow is my property
Green is recently closed trails
Red is trails still open (to vehicles)
Blue is Roads that have been put in and paved since the map
Block
1. purple lines are all hiking
2. those enter into the state game area with several miles of two tracks connect them (that area would make an fawking awesome orv park, alot of tall hills, areas with rock, mud, ravines. I get wood everytime i drive through the area just thinking about what could be)
3. is all residnetal housing and private drives etc.....no trails left

the very bottom purple line thats at the corner of the legend, that goes into the game area as well with several miles of trails that connect with the Block #2's trails

It's cool that you can go on google maps and see the trails that are on the map from the satellite view.

the lake to the bottom with the three islands (hall lake)...........you can see how small it was in 1950. Then they damned it up so they could extend Gunlake Rd. to yankee springs rd and it got alot larger. Where the road gets the closest, you can see how they built a natural damn and then installed a drain/culvert so when the water level of the lake gets to tall, it'll flow into the drain and out at the bottom of the damn into a creek.

Man I spent a lot of time out there when i was a teenager, 25 years ago we could drive all over out there, not really wheelin trails, we mostly cruised around in cars, but it was still cool as hell, we would go out there with some beer from my older bro, and some girls we knew, drive back under those huge pines.... we ll you get the picture.
