They are pulling out because Michigan, like Florida, has violated national Democratic Party rules by moving up its primary date in a challenge to the traditional monopoly on early voting held by Iowa and New Hampshire.

I am sorry, I did not realize that the national Democratic Party could make rules about when a state could have a primary.

I am an Independant, and even if I was going to vote for a dem in the primary (I wasn't) this would have just changed my mind.

In the bigger picture, MI is considered a "slam dunk" in terms, so they're taking it out of the equation so they can concentrate their efforts where they can gain some ground.

On a lower level, the DNC is smacking the MI around for not following party orders and moving their primary.

x2

Although you'd think they'd want to go to a strongly Dem state to win the ballot for themselves as a candidate.

I wouldn't be all that suprised if michigan sided republican this coming election due to the recent events..

I doubt it will happen, but it wouldn't suprise me that much.

Nah, my inlaws are happy with the job Granholm is doing. They blame recent events on others.

The state will remain until detroit/flint/saginaw burn to the ground.

No. He said LEAST corrupt. Currently, it is the most corrupt that wins. For once, I agree with a Sova post.

I can't believe that they are putting the party infront of the people. That says a lot in my book. I think I need to write an email.

I think the entire election process, especially the primarys and the electoral college is a joke and should be scrapped in favor of a system that allows every voter in this country to have equal say in who gets elected.
