Lady arrested for not watering her lawn...

Shit I would get disruptive too if I was being cited a misdemeanor for not watering my lawn....

It sounds like she had all of the water to her house shut off for six months. I dont want to imagine what that smelled like...
I dont think they should have arrested her, I think they should have sent for the men with the padded wagon.

Some people should be.

I know some townships and neighborhood boards have rules about lawns not being overgrown and such. It's usually just a fine, but getting arrested? :miff:

"She was arrested July 6 after failing to give her name to a police officer who visited her home."

"Perry's water had been turned off for about nine months, at her request, although she was living at the house at the time of arrest."

She broke the rules of watering the lawn knowing it was a misdemeanor, she refused to cooperate with law enforcement. The real question here is if 'not watering your lawn' should be a misdemeanor. She turned the water off, that was her choice, and she refused to obey the law, that was her choice.

I don't like that an old woman got hurt, but she should have cooperated when being interogated.

Careful - they might taze you for that. Dont ask John Kerry a question either.

I just recently had to deal with our wonderful ordinance officer in my hood for the 6th time since I lived here. Seems the neighbors think 8 cars is too many.

That was in Utah? That sounds more like a lame California law. These people are wasting government money on stupid laws when they should be worried about more serious offenders.

I don't have a problem with arresting people who break the laws. My problem is with having laws that someone has to water thier lawn, especially in a place like Utah which is naturally dry and wouldn't have much green grass if people didn't plant it there and water the crap out of it.

I think people need to break stupid laws like that so that it comes out that it's a stupid law. Everybody on the block should quit watering their lawn.
