Default Towing with a CJ 8 Scrambler aborted *

Kicking this idea around for a while .

Building a CJ8 for dd and tow rig , some thing fun to drive run the dunes ect.

But the main question is would a 1 ton cj8 with a 350 , full width axles ect. tow all right (load equalizing hitch) ?

Wheel base 103'' could be stretched out

Going to tow my rock buggy on a lite weight trailer guessing around 5,500 lbs,.

Maybe even look for a mech. Cumins, but have not looked into the figment of this.

I don't know maybe a wast of time but not really excited about buying a big money truck .

Thanks for reading Jeff

beter build a custom boxed frame, put sway bars, etc on it... that drivetrain (350 gasser) should be fine though

probly do a Suburban frame and glass body ,or like said 2x4 box frame.

I think I will be able to talk myself out of this when I start pricing and the realistic time frame to compete .

not sure, but we used to tow a fairly heavy boat around with a 401 powered scrambler. it towed pretty well.
