I was actually thinking of driving the CJ to work, glad I didn't. But, this wind takes me back to the years I spent in North Dakota.

My Jeep was attacked by orange milk crates flying around on Dixie hwy, At Walton, they were coming from the Mobil station.

while attempting to keep the tj on the road, i almost got blind sided by a kmart shopping cart going about the same speed I was. I had to swerve to it didn't tbone me. That sucked, I watched it roll into the middle of dort and tip over in the middle, i was waiting for someone to nail it.

on the way to lansing yesterday morning, I was dodging flying cardboard on I96.

We also lost our 2nd portable canopy that was screwed into the deck over the weekend. It ripped the screws through the metal of the base plates, and bent/sheared the damned frame in several spots, not ot mention the shattered welds.

I simply flung it over the deck for now, as I didn't want its remnants smashing against the house and tearing the siding up, or smashing a window.

Tonight is garbage night, but I think I'll wait until the weekend so I can do a better job of dismantling the remnants and get it bundled up for either the regular garbage collection, or for transfer to the dumpster that the neighbor has as part of their fire damage renovation (I'll ask first).
