Talking SOLD - Xj 4.0 - 1999, 90k, synthetic oil

90,000 miles, maintained with synthetic oil. Motor is intact and complete in the vehicle except for the alternator I robbed it of. A/C system also still intact and charged.

This is the motor described here. I bought the entire Jeep at the time. This vehicle was bashed up, but was still completely functional. I even drove it to a BBQ the day I picked it up from Frank. No leaks, no mechanical issues at all. Ran perfectly, but can no longer be demonstrated due to the header and fuel tank/pump now being gone. Can still be cranked over. Vehicle is currently on jackstands with no axles/suspension, so the motor will have to be pulled where-is in my pole barn.

This is a distributor-equipped motor. If you happen to want a distributorless system for it, I have those parts also. Being a 99, it also has the preferred, higher-flowing intake casting and would be a great candidate for a future stroker platform, though the motor still has a very long life ahead of it.

$500. Header was been sold.

SOLD

The only vehicles I know it will work in are 97-up XJ's. You may want to search on NAXJA.

You wouldn't happen to have an aux. electric fan for that Cherokee that you'd be willing to part with would you?

Thanks!

It amazes me that people will still pay a couple hundred dollars for 200k 4.0's, but not want this one.

Do you know if this will work in my 97 TJ? Sorry but I've yet to do much research on the subject. If not, what would need to be changed? Thanks, Stephen.

You may have to run your own sensors, perhaps your own manifolds. I'm sorry, but I don't know much about TJ configurations.

Make a thread in Jeep Tech and ask that question there.

Used a 00 IIRC xj motor in my brothers 98 tj. You will have to reuse some of the tj accessories, but it works great.

It has a filter, but not the exact one pictured on the Rusty's site.

Tomorrow is fine.
