Default Why you DON'T use shackles or a clevis to attach two straps.

I shot this video in 2004. Thanks to XJmichigan for posting it to you tube, I thought it was lost forever after a hard drive crash.

I was so far away from the vehicles filming, that I did not realize what they had did until it was to late.

The music is NSFW, so turn off your speakers.

And yes, the tailgate was not damaged before the incident either.

What led up to this situation was a guy who was wheeling by himself at the mounds. It broke through some ice into water, and couldn't get out. He left it overnight when it was 5 or 6 degrees out, and it was frozen solid. We had to TOW a tow truck back to him.

jeez, not only a bad way to connect two straps but come on 20 ft of slack in the strap and full throttle jerk on the truck

that's why I don't use straps, they're just unsafe, even if used properly. I'd rather use my winch with rope any day of the week. My rope has broken several times, with a friend standing next to it once it didn't even scratch him (he/I are still morons for him being next to the rope).

that video is everywhere on the internet, it makes its way around websites quite often. and i have it saved somewhere on my computer too.

never quite figured out why they sent out a 2wd tow truck (or at least it looks 2wd)

and i forget what the towing bill was
