Ahhh. I thought it was a roll cage. I didn't know they called them sport bars. See....I've never owned a Jeep so I don't know these things. I'm uneducated when it comes to Jeeps. But once I sell my ZR2 and get my Dad's Z71, then I will buy a Wrangler...someday!!!

Thank you for explaining that to me, Sonicjay!

x3, The cage took all the impact so the occupants didn't have too. Looks like it worked pretty good too if neither of them are injured.

The guy who owned that Jeep has actually taken it rock climbing many times in Tennessee and a bunch of other places. While I don't disagree that he should have had an aftermarket cage, don't ASSUME he is a web wheeler or anything of the sort.

I hope it didn't scratch his "extreme offroad" sticker. :tonka:

I agree. How much do you think he has invested in that rig? You would think some where along the line he would have put some additional protection on it.

Do you have a full cage in your rig?

I didn't mean to judge him. I feel we all do the same thing. I see vehicles that people spend thousands of dollars and tons of labor into making them more capable off road. But the problem with being more capable is that you can get yourself into more trouble. I'm not saying that's what the guy with the Rubicon did, it was just an observation. I worry more about some asshat causing me to roll my Jeep on the road more than I worry about rolling it offroad.

I wouldn't get a harness before getting a cage.
The stock belts allow the occupants to move and get pushed around as the "Sport Bars" absorb the energy.

Most road racing sanctioning bodies won't allow a harness without a cage.
