Yes...sometimes you need a push or something else to happen, like being laid off or fired, to get you to a better place. I know you'll find something that will make you happier and I know that I will, too. The sucky thing is that it takes time and you may go through some big obstacles (like financial issues) while finding the job that makes you happy, but it'll happen.

The other nice thing about a hospital, is you can typically bid into a new job after 90 days. If you get your foot in the door, and then something you like better comes up, you can jump on it. Plus, a lot of jobs are 12hr shifts, so you work less days, and schedules and very flexible. Best of luck, I hope all works out.

Make a nasty video, I will put it on a website, and we can split it 60/40. LMK.

PLUS you can eat a shit load of REALLLLY good food for cheap as hell.

When my roommate ran himself over with a snowmobile I went into the food court. I got a huuuge ceaser salad, a hamburger, fries, pop and an apple for like $4.

Then I know that you were not where I work. Alomst everything is charged by the ounce, and most of the food is edible, but not great. It is not uncommon for me to spend $6-$7 on a meal, and that is not a large meal, just a decent size one.

Oh man. The food I had at the hospital was better than some resteraunts I've been to. I don't think I'd be able to eat $7 of food there without blowing up.

I'm talking about Bronson down here in Kalamazoo. The food at Monson wasn't nearly as awesome.

Sorry for the thread jack! Back on topic.

x (current count + 1) for the hospital idea

I work in one and it's a good job. There's also quite a bit of free education available. It might not be useful unless you're going into a medical field, but it never hurts to know things like how to interpret an EKG.

Just got back from my first day.

It Sucked. I've come to the conclusion that if you're not an 80 year old woman looking for a car fan, or an 18 year old hot girl with biiiig boobs (schwing) looking for a car cover, you are an asshole.

Out of all the ideas given here, this has been so far the best one Pete!!! Let me think about it . . . . . . NOPE! :tonka:

And on a serious note, yep I think that hospital is where I want to go now. Specially with the HUGE complex that McLaren will be building only 2 minutes away from the house.

I wouldnt bother changing careers, just your state. I graduated about 2 years ago with a bba in advertising marketing and management. I got sick of kissing the ass of hr homos to get a job paying less than 30K a year. So now I run part of a landscaping company and wrench at a bike shop (only those wages go straight to parts, all 5-10 hours I put in a week)

Just to show how bad it is, people are actually stopping us to ask if we a re hiring, which was quite the opposite in landscaping prior to this year.
