I think it's a Russian contraption, found the name, see after the movies. similar to these things:

they're mostly used for snow and they obviously ultra light weight.

also the cars in the background liike like Russian vehicles. There was a hge post on them somewhere, I think in the general tech forum or somewhere.

Karakat!!!

almost all of them are home bilt from left over motorcycle and car parts. so each one is pretty unique. More examples in the attached images.

not trying to be a dick, but that fixed axle, chain driven POS is nothing like the artic rigs you just posted. Thats like comparing a Stock Jeep to a west-coast moon buggy and saying "well, a stock Jeep is similiar to that moon-buggy"

the ones in the video indeed are profesionally built, but most are hacked together of whatever is available. see attached images of my post above.

so yes they are the same, just the artic rigs have more money/thought put into them. they're stil called Karakats, just nicer ones. a Ferrari is still called a car, it's just a nicer one.

*edit: so what do you have against chain drive anyways?
