Daily driving it at all?

If you are going drive it on the highway get the 700R4. Otherwise 3 speed it up!

Then the th350. Cheaper and stouter. 700's can be built, but lots of $$$.

You say you're not going to do rock climbing, but you're tossing in a 4:1 low kit in your 300?

Why would you need that for mudin?

Gear Spread on a 700R4 is 4.37:1
Gear spead on a Th350 is 2.52:1

Both can be built plenty strong. I would take a 700R4 over a TH350 in most circumstances, much better gearing for wheeling, epsecially if you are hogtieing yourself with a 4:1 T-case.

But if you are going with a Dana 300 case then the 700R4 is going to give you fits trying to route a front driveshaft.

Of course, a Dana 300's going to need some help behind a 383...

READ: 1. to look at carefully so as to understand the meaning of (something written, printed, etc.): to read a book; to read music.

:tonka: :tonka:
I've been watching off roading from the sidelines for a while now.. i wana try everything.. i like doing the climbing stuff and a lot of that likes low gearing..
But after reading haggars post i may look at other t case options..

If the two trans are similar in price go with the 700r4. With the 700r4 you'll have to get a lock up kit for the forth gear. They cost about 150 though summit. I am going the 700r4 route with my motor swap. Thats my 2cents.
If you want i have a turbo 400 id cut you a deal on. Was going to use it but then got a good deal on a built up 700r4.

I have a 700R4 with a flipped dana 300.

Not a clue how you would get a front driveshaft in with a normal 300/700r4

Is that a driver side drop?
