Yah its to bad the 7.3 was by far the best deisel ever made. now the 6.0 has turned alot of heads away from Ford. But thats why I have a V-10 the rest of a Ford is still bigger and badder than anything in its competition.
And I pull alot of weight next to alot of guys with the deisel and have know issues....Yah you might spend alittle more in gas but that $5,600 option for the deisel and expensive ass oil changes make up for it not to mention it has 84,000 miles and no issues other than an ingector that Ford payed for and new exuat manifold bolts and 1 new manifold. Ford payed for both after the warrenty was up

Get a V-10

Question how many miles are on the truck and what dealership is working on it???? Are they able to fix it? I work at a Ford dealership and might be able to help let me know.

there is 84K miles on the truck its at Friendly ford in Monroe. Who knows if they are able to fix it. Its been there now 2.5 weeks. Pretty ridiculous I have talked to f o r ds customer service and they cant do anything. Pretty much I will use this truck through the summer hauling the jeep around, and possibly deer season, then it will be gone and I will get an older 7.3L or prolly a 5.9L cummins

UPDATE:

Supposed to be picking the truck up tommorow night. The checked the heads laid them out, fluxed them??, and xray'd them?? Heads were fine, and the culprit was the EGR cooler.....go figure. I told them that two weeks ago and they said it was fine, oh well, atleast I got new Head gaskets out of the deal.

wow their diesel tech must be a moron. that problem is not that hard to diag. but it is a very time consuming repair to repalce those head gaskets. i had to do a set once lets just say it took a couple days but not weeks. hope you have better luck in the future
