Default Built 98 XJ

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...eadExists=true

It used to be my rig, but I sold it to my buddy over the summer. He's in the Marines and has been in California, so he hasn't been able to do anything with the Jeep since he got it. He's going to Iraq later this year so he's trying to sell it. He's asking $6600

Anyway, here's some info about it:
My mom bought it new in fall of 97, drove it for 68k miles. I bought it off her in the fall of 2001 since I knew I'd need a 4x4 up at Michigan Tech the following year. Parents bought me a 3" lift kit and 31s for a graduation present, so that went on. I put about 40k miles on it over 3 years commuting the 500 miles back and forth between school and home, so it's got mostly highway miles.
I built it in a few stages, going from stock to 3" and 31s, added a spacer and shackle to that, then took the big step to 6.5" and 35s.

It had a full factory warranty to 100k miles so it's had lots of parts replaced that wouldn't otherwise have been.

The current parts on it are:
D30 front with 4.56s installed by KillerB
Chrylser 29 spline 8.25 rear with 4.56s and Powertrax No-Slip
4.0 I-6. Bottom end was rebuilt around 85k miles due to scored crank that caused repeated rear main seal leaks. Runs perfect and always has.
AW4 automatic replaced around 75k. Had a couple leaks, so they were replacing all pumps and seals. Several parts were on backorder from the warehouse, so after having it in the shop for several weeks they just put in a new tranny so we'd stop complaining....I needed a vehicle to get around with.
NP231 with RE Hack-n-Tap SYE and driveshaft
Rusty's front tow hooks and brackets
Rear hitch
T-case skid

Front suspension:
Rusty's 6.5" coils
Doetsch DT3000 shocks
RE adjustable LCAs with Superflex joints
Tomken adjustable UCAs with Johnny Joints
RE drop brackets and braces
RE HD trac bar abd bracket
V8 ZJ steering

Rear suspension:
RE 4.5" leaf packs with XTerra main leaf and overload leaf added
Rusty's 1.5" lift shackles
Skyjacker Nitro shocks

Tires are 35x12.5 Swamper SSRs with about 14k miles on 15x9 American Racing aluminum wheels with ~3.75" BS
Spare is 31x10.5 BFG MT on the same wheel as the rest

Rain gutter mount roofrack with 4 lights and spare tire mount
ARB Safari Snorkel
Smittybilt brushguard with offroad lights
Alpine stereo
Recessed 10" sub in passenger compartment(not sure if he put an amp in or not....I kept mine when I sold him the rig)
Balljoints and unit bearings were replaced recently
Many suspension and steering parts only have about 9 months of use on them, as do the gears, tires, etc.

The Jeep has been very well taken care of its whole life. I'm pretty sure it's only been driven about 100 miles since he's owned it, and I was with him for most of it.
It's been wheeled and has some dents and scratches, but was always well maintened and taken care of. I love this rig,

Anyway, I think that covers it all. If you're seriously interested feel free to ask any questions, I know the thing inside and out. I've got tons of pictures if you want any as well, and I can give you the guy's number if you wanna talk to him about it. His dad has it listed for him and I dunno if he'd be too helpful with questions or not.

Yeah....I absolutely love that thing. I'm having a really hard time not buying it back(although the lack of money helps), but my next build will involve parts that the unibody wouldn't be so happy with.

Since I know people tend to ignore things unless there are pics, here are some more:

(the Chevelle is for sale too )

That is probably one of the nicest DD/wheelin' XJs I've ever seen. If I had the money, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.

I shouldn't have posted this, I'm making myself wanna buy it back.

He's asking $6600. He bought it from me for more than that and has put some time and money into it since then(the little bit he had when he was back at home), so he's definitely taking a bit of a hit on it.
