So I just bought this 99 f150 with a 4.6 and a auto. It runs good and shifts good but when I take off like from a light or stop sign And just take off normal I get a slight shake. Until I get to like 5 or 10 mph. So I hooked up my trailer and jeep and it has been multiplied by 10. It shakes real bad at take off now. But otherwise pulls great. If I dont come to a complete stop it does not do it. What do you guys think. Please give me your input.

Thanks Cory

Ya that was what I thought to. But the drive shaft seems tight. no play at all. Is there another way to check one? I also heard maybe trans mount. So i used a ratchet strap to hold it down but no change.

nope just at take off. Drove it all over hell jump on the gas and it down shifts with no shake. And it does not always happen. But when the trailer is on it does it every time. I even tried a brake torque and no shake.

take the shaft out and make sure it isn't binding. how bad does the rear end sag with the trailer hooked up? could be the pinion angle

U-joints can still "feel" tight installed ... the only way to make sure they're not binding is to remove the rear driveshaft, like natureboy said.

I think I would start checking the trans mount, spring bushings, leaf packs (broken springs), U bolts etc.

one of my brothers work trucks did that same thing, and in fact it was a 98 F150. I believe it ended up being something with the TC in the trans.
