We don't want you to be saved for our sake, we want you to be saved for yours. I am not putting you down or judging you, we look at it as if someone had the cure for cancer you would want them to share it right. I don't look down on non-christians, agnostics, atheists or whatever you may be, it just that I have something in my life that I think people should take a look at. God says in the Bible that He would love it if everyone believed in Him but He knows that is not to happen. Like I said, I am not here to judge or preach, I am simply explaining. It's not that my life as a christian is perfect, it is just better than it was before I was saved.

Yeah I really dont care what he looked like. I am just saying that man made him look the way he wanted to look like. hundreds of pics of Jesus exist with blue eyes. I wasnt exactly referring to that picture on the blue eye part.

Do a google search on jesus pics and you would be amazed at what you see.

Done that plenty of times Mike. I agree that people try to beautify Jesus. But he was a carpenter, he worked with his hands. I doubt he was without caluses and that he straightened his pretty hair every day. I am with you, that is not a clear representation. The Bible itself says that Jesus had an ordinary appearance, there was nothing out of the ordinary about how he looked. He was Jewish, so he probably had a big nose like everyone else. And he was middle eastern, so he probably had some wicked eyebrows, ask me how I know! But again, all this is insignificant.

I had a lengthy discussion last night with a friend of mine who does not have faith, and his whole thing is not being sure if the Scriptures are accurate, well, not so much if the translation went well, but if the words belonged to God in the first place. Even if they did not belong to God and were not under his influence, the men who wrote these accounts still were eye witnesses to the actual events. So their testimony is still there regardless of inspiration. Now obviously I believe that God is big enough to compose a book and that he did that with the Bible, but motives can still be analyzed on the men who penned those words. My point is this, regardless of your belief on God's inspiration of the Bible, the first hand account of the life of Jesus is still there, and the accounts are historically accurate. And that leads each one of us to ask ourselves if this Jesus was who he said he was.

Its amazing to me how those who bieleve in a " myth " with no prof so easily dissmis any thing that may argue there point . Only there myth counts .

Many relgious folks have said to me " it requires faith " thats translated too . You must over look any facts to the contrary and you must also bieleve in what can not be proven . I call that buying BS

No prof eh? Maybe you skipped right to page six?

If I was ignoring the claim of the tomb, I would avoid a discussion based upon it. I am WELCOMING a discussion of it. I find REASON to believe in the story of the resurrection, but NO reason to believe that the tomb found in 1980 belonged to Jesus Christ.

So what facts are being overlooked Marv? Be specific.

anyone see the jeep CJ in the jesus tomb program?

Also some other facts: http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/science/06/18/jesus.box/

Anyone notice how the conclusion of what the tomb was existed before the investigation began? They were on a mission to prove it was the tomb of Jesus instead of looking at the facts and letting them speak for themselves. There were a ton of holes in the entire study, limited testing on family relations, limited options granted towards family relations, partially quoted (read: muzzled) experts, exaggerated results from testing, unrealistic data base of 4th century "gospel", and so on. There are reasons to believe that part of the tomb was staged, and reason to believe that motive on pre-conclusions are dollar based. Sketchy science and strechy conclusions to say the least, IMO.

Dave I give you props for going all out but you took religion a little too far and you didn't get the message.

If there is one thing that God wants, it is for us to just live our lives. By forcing religion on people you are in fact going against everything God and Jesus stood for. Unfortunately people like you don't see that and thus on judgment day you will likely not be a happy soul as you stand before your your lord savior.

Walk the path, show them the path, let them follow you
walking the path is a decision each man must make on his own

Born and raised Roman Catholic, later in life I also studied Methodist, Lutheran, and Baptist. I currently follow no single way of practicing religion.

I am debating a tomb that was claimed to belong to Jesus, not creating a discussion telling people why they need be a christian. Sorry to hear of your frustration, but perhaps you can take a dose of your own medicine and not force your beliefs on me. Back to your regularly sheduled, non-religious forcing, debate about the fake tomb of Jesus.

So no one watched the documentary sunday night eh?

If you read the article he is saying that the movie states things as fact when they are in fact unsure of the details, that is my point. :miff:
