Default Illegal ticket quota and other BS in Rochester *PLEASE STICKY*

This needs to be brought to the attention of anyone who lives in or near or works in Rochester.

Illegal ticket quota, incompetent and corrupt city manager AND police chief. The cops are speaking out against their chief and city manager because they are ashamed of what their department has become.

Just take the time to read some of the posts at www.ticketquota.com and do anything you feel you can... even if you just write an email. These posts are made from actual Rochester police officers and it's 100% the truth. The worst part is it's just the tip of the ice berg in that department.

These cops will actually pass up emergency calls to write tickets so they can keep their jobs. They're ashamed of it but they have to do what they have to do to feed their families... even when they know it isn't right.

Everyone has the opportunity to do something to help the community here. The DNR writes tickets because they feel like they can. Rochester cops are doing it because they're forced to by incompetent jackasses. Help change things here.

I know it's in his sig but it should be stickied

There's a lot of people on here that either work, live or drive through rochester everyday and word needs to be spread

Letting it sift down to the bottom of the pile doesn't help the matters at all

Thanks for the support, Super Stocker. It really is appreciated.

Trust me, Rochester officers find a reason to stop you. I am not suggesting they lie or make up a reason, but they go out of their way to stop you so they don't get fired by Chief Ted Glynn.

Actually... if they get an emergency call that involves one of those two they will easily look for an excuse not to respond to it since that call will tie them up for hours and take away from quota time

If you guys would actually go to the site and read about the problem you'd realize that this isn't about people getting tickets. Yeah, it's a nuisance for people to get 2 mph over tickets but it's about the incompetence in the leadership of the department, city manager and city council.

But hey.. you guys don't care about any of that. Ignorance is your best friend.

Make sure you have your car in good working order, no burned out lights, don't speed, don't run red/yellow lights, and they won't bust you. Yeah, it sux that they are giving tickets for every infraction, but that is the way it is.

This is Rochester, MI right?? I ride or drive thru every day, and have never been pulled over. My windows are tinted black on my DD, and the exhaust is anything but stock. Lights on it suck as well. As for my bikes, exhaust is a joke, one is a Thunderheader (sets off car alarms inside garages), and modified lights.

I never run the speed limit and often pull a hole shot from the right lane so I can pass others going straight (not saying it's right, just the way I ride). Never been stopped, so can't vouch for that.

Yes, they have a problem at the top, but there are some good officers on the force. Quit lumping everyone into a single catagory.

ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS. Remove the fucking tin hat and promptly chew on it.

You call 911. Guess who is going to be there first 95% of the time. A cop. You want to make a god damn bet that they will be responding ASAP for a burglery in progress or an MVA with posisble injuries or a rape or jesus fukc a lot of stuff.

First - its not the cops. Dont believe that "site" for a god damn second. Untill I see internal memos from the chief saying, gee guys we need a raise punch out 50 tickets for me and the beer is on my tonight I dont believe shit.
Next - Its easyier when it comes time to review for an officer to prove that he/she was doing something on the shift. Around here they have an end of shift log as to activities. "14 traffic stops, 5 arrests, 8 tickets issues, 5 medicals, and 7 alarm activations" looks damn good as aposed to "patrolled 10 developments 4 times, 5 medicals, and 7 alarms"

You have 0 idea on what goes on. I dont have a damn clue either but from a logical stand point you're just assuming they just want your cash.

Around here less then a 1/4 of your ticket will end up back to the township. A lot of the time that 1/4 wont even cover the police officers wages to be at court.
GET. YOUR. GOD. DAMN. FACTS. RIGHT.

Hmm, lived there for years, drive through there all the time, never got a ticket.

Rochester is really trying to keep the municipality nice, like birmingham, so they are going to keep a close on on shit.

Birnmingham cops are rough. They'd sit outside out jobsites and if we didn't have the trucks packed and the STREET SWEPT by 4:59, they were writing up a ticket.

St. Clair Shores where my brother lives, they nail you for just a coupel over evrey time.

Bottom line: Don't drive fast and you won't get a ticket. If you drive with illegal things on your truck, then don't call it bullshit if you aren't in complinace. If you don't know if you are legal or not, then look it up.

If you get hit with a true bullshit case, then fight it in court and I guarantee you'll get it dropped. The 52-3 magitrates in Roch are pretty cool about stuff. I fought a ticket a few months back, where I got nailed by a OCSD stating inside a lilac bush with a radar gun. My case was dropped because the officer had pre-printed lots of tickets and had all kinds of errors including the wrong officer name and badge number mismatches. Magistrate ripped him up and down, it was worth taking 2 horus off work to see that.

as far as i know our mayor is the only elected position, the city manager is appointed by the city council, and the cheif is then subsequently appointed by the city manager...

yeah it kinda sucks...

edit, just got off the phone with my mom (she works in city records)to check what i just posted about the city positions, she verified what i said..

Then its time the citizens went to a council meeting and formally protest the manger and the chief. OR vote their asses out of office.
