Default Amc 20 Drum

I am trying to get the drum off an older Amc 20 narrow track cj axle. Well there is a metal cover over the part of the shaft that sticks out, and it seams to be holding the drum on. Is there any tricks to getting the drum off??? I have tried all I can think of and it wont budge, but it turns freely.

Thanks for your help

have you removed the 3 flathead screws holding the drum to the axle?

He ended up just torching the axle to get the shafts out:tonka: , all he needed was the carrier.

Don't forget to 'back-off' the brake adjusters.
The brake pads can make some nice grooves on old drums...
